Member of Parliament, Amine Wehbe, said on Thursday that the main route to all the much-needed reform in Lebanon started by the election of a new Lebanese president.
“Electing a president would eventually lead to senate formation, and early parliamentary elections,” Wehbi told the Voice of Lebanon radio station.
On the other hand, the lawmaker utterly refused an electoral law that’s based on one Lebanese electoral district, especially in light of the “illegal arms” in Lebanon.
“The Future bloc still cleaves to a mixed law. Any other proposals entails concessions by other sides, especially by Hezbollah which is required to give up its arms before the adoption of a proportionality-based electoral law,” Wehbe added.
